Interesting find in Windows Whistler Build 2428

Postby MS-GIL » July 29th, 2016, 3:47 am

I was snooping around in Whistler build 2428 today when I discovered a couple screenshots on the start menu properties that I believe are a lost version of Whistler. My guess is build 2422 but I can't say for sure. Here is a screenshot and a blown up version of what I'm looking at:

(Notice the legacy logo on the start button which is interesting because it has luna alongside it)

Wow, wish they kept that as a feature :D
I really like the legacy logo, for some reason...

I really like the legacy logo as well and as for activating Windows 10, I need a little money before I can because I couldn't do the upgrade :(

Yeah, Microsoft doesn't like it when someone uses their desktop for video recording purposes when it is not activated.. which it is not like you are doing anything illegal with it, just a license agreement breach.

However, I digress. The legacy logo is better than the new 8-10 logo.

I got it activated with an old Windows 7 key I had and I do like the legacy logo a lot. I agree that it is better than the new logo

Another thing about Whistler that I found is some bitmaps left over in the XP screensaver.
I can't put the bitmaps in the post, but just use 7-Zip to extract the login screensaver on XP.

I just found those and that is a really interesting find! Its a neat thing that Microsoft kept those there not thinking anyone would notice :)

Did they honestly think that? Hah. Silly Microsoft, HUMANS COLLECTIVELY NOTICE EVERYTHING.

Also why are you folks acting as though the three logos are mutually exclusive?

They actually aren't :D
