VMware Workstation - Mouse movement in Windows 95 (problem)

Postby Vas709 » May 16th, 2016, 3:31 pm

Greetings

I have installed Windows 95 in VMware Workstation 12 Pro. I installed VMware Tools and the display driver. Now, I am having a problem with mouse movement on Windows 95. The mouse cannot be released from a VM, so I have to press Ctrl + Alt. And the mouse often moves erratically if I move it out from Windows 95. It doesn't happen with Windows 98 SE installed in a VM because I download it from WinWorldPC's website and the mouse moves perfectly. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thank you.

That's an issue I get as well. I think it is because of it was more common for optical pointers such as a mouse on 98SE and newer.

Yes, you're right. I think that there is no solution.

Though when I was making a virtual machine with MS-DOS 4.x I was able to establish an optical pointer, but I have no idea why it asked since that version of MS-DOS was for before the 9x and more for the 2.x (maybe even 1.x, or 3.x)

I cannot install MS-DOS 4.01 in VMware Workstation, so I had to install MS-DOS 6.22. In that OS I can release my mouse by pressing Ctrl + Alt. Anyway, I can still use Windows 98 SE in VMware since it supports mouse driver. Thank you for your answer.
