Finding a CRT monitor

Postby ShinyElGhosteo » February 19th, 2017, 7:09 am

Hopefully this is the right topic to post this to... Anyways, I've been on the hunt to find a CRT monitor with very little luck. I've checked thrift stores, yard sales, apps like offerup, and Craigslist. There are absolutely none left. I did find one but the screen is very badly scratched and it is missing it's stand, however I still bought it because I fear I will not find anymore. Anyone know some good places to check?

This is that damaged one. You can see the scratches as if it were dragged screen down. It cost almost nothing, thankfully.

The only ones that I have seen are ones that I have some in one classroom at school. Other than that, no one uses them anymore. Curious on why you are wanting a CRT.

Just for a personal build I am doing. I am trying to get as close a possible to my favorite computer I used at school. Already have the software and the computer itself. I just need the monitor.

Have you tried looking on ebay?

It's not the best site in the world but it's likely to have what you need.
Long live Windows Vista!

I've checked but almost all are pickup only and they sre usually going for $40 and up so it's really not worth it. :/

Where I live there are so many at the thrift stores that they literally give them away for free. I wish you good luck on your hunt and I'll look to find some on the internet for you

Update for anyone who stumbles upon my old post:
I have finally found the grey dell monitor I was looking for as well as a white one and a commodore monitor. All three cost me $12. :D
